You're a Phoney!
A downloadable game
You and your friends play the role of scammers. HQ has tasked you to successfully scam Victims by beating their stats.
.
To start the game, someone rolls the dice and whoever gets the highest number starts first.
A player draws a card from the Scam Deck 1, which they find out what stats they have to beat and their goal. Deck 2 is the Victim Deck, which correlates to the victim the player has to beat. Each victim has a PATIENCE value as a stat which means you only have a certain amount of turns before you lose the card and rewards attached to it.
The player starts their turn by rolling for their ENDURANCE. From there the player can decide how to use their turn. Either draw a new scam and victim card, "make a call" (attack) to an existing card that someone else drew from the deck that is on the field, or rest to recover stress. (The more amount of actions will affect the character's ENDURANCE, and the more failed actions the player makes will affect stress levels.
The game is filled with luck and strategy. Timing out when and how you will approach your Victim, with the luck of the roll hindering your every move.
.
Rules:
Victims can have either static or fluid stats. If a Victim’s stat is fluid it will be indicated by a “roll” icon followed by a number (Ex. 🎲4). The player opposite your rotation will roll for this Victim.
If the player doesn’t manage to complete the scam by the Victim's patience cap, the Victim is sent to the discard pile.
If the player convinces the Victim (card) to download the malware, this means they get that card which counts to points at the end of the game. If the card was your own call, GAIN +1 in a stat of your choosing.
At the beginning of your turn you can use an action to trade one of your successfully hacked Victim cards to draw an Event card. This action will immediately end your turn.
If the player fails action, they move their token up the stress bar. Each unfinished call sends a Victim card to a player's discard pile.
At the end of the game, the number of failed calls is subtracted from the player's total numerical value.
One more victim than the amount of players is allowed on the board at a given time.
During the third round each player rolls for a faction. This will help with the more difficult Victims.
If the overall defeated Victims is over [eight] shuffle the difficult cards into the Victim deck.
